Valentina Visani was born in 1997 in Castel San Pietro Terme, Bologna, Italy.
She received her Bachelor Degree in Biomedical Engineering in July 2019 from Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, Italy.
She received her Master Degree in Bioengineering in April 2022 from University of Padova, Italy.
Her master thesis, under the supervision of Dr. Marco Castellaro, concerned the semantic segmentation of the choroid plexus, a vascular structure located inside the brain ventricles, using the Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) architectures on commonly acquired brain magnetic resonance images (MRI) of a cohort of multiple sclerosis subjects.
She is currently a PhD student in Bioengineering (XXXVIII cicle) at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Padova, under the supervision of Dr. Marco Castellaro and the co-supervision of Prof. Mattia Veronese.
Her main scientific interest regards the implementation of AI-based methods to automatically segment the Choroid Plexus starting from brain MRI.
