Leonardo Barzon

Ph.D. Student

Leonardo Barzon was born in 2000 in Padova, Italy.
He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2022 and his Master’s Degree in Bioengineering in 2024, both from the University of Padova, Italy. His Master’s Thesis focused on non-invasively mapping and investigating the blood-to-brain exchange of PET radiotracers targeting the 18 kDa translocator protein (TSPO).
Since November 2024, he has been a Ph.D. student in Information Engineering (curriculum Bioengineering), under the supervision of Prof. Mattia Veronese and the co-supervision of Prof. Adriana Tavares (University of Edinburgh). His research project aims to develop a new class of biomarkers for neuroinflammation by applying network analysis techniques and AI to neuroimaging data.
