Francesco Piva was born in 1998 in Padua (PD), Italy. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Information Engineering in July 2021 and his Master’s degree in Bioengineering with a specialisation in neuroscience in July 2024, both from the University of Padua. He completed his Master’s thesis on PET imaging and machine learning in the context of Alzheimer’s disease, at the Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève (HUG), Geneva, Switzerland.
Since November 2024, he is a Research Assistant under the supervision of Prof. Mattia Veronese, at the Department of Information Engineering, University of Padua, as part of the “Q amyloid – Quantitative Amyloid Imaging” project. His main task is the development of an automated pipeline for the identification and quantification of amyloid-beta plaques in brain tissue.
