Benedetta Marin was born in 1999 in Este (PD), Italy.
She completed her studies at the University of Padova, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering in July 2021 and a Master’s Degree in Bioengineering in April 2024.
During her Master’s thesis at the Institute of Clinical and Biomedical Research (iCBR) of the University of Coimbra (Portugal), she investigated the therapeutic potential of a green tea extract combined with chemotherapy for colorectal cancer, conducting both in vitro and in vivo studies supported by 18F-FDG PET imaging.
Her current research focuses on neuroimaging methods for personalized amyloid-beta quantification in dementia. She contributed to the development of Q Amyloid, an automated workflow for identifying and quantifying brain amyloid-beta plaques in PET images, and she is now expanding this work by leveraging large-scale datasets to improve analysis methods and deepen the understanding of the pathophysiology of Alzheimer’s disease
